London's 310 bus, linking Golders Green and Stamford Hill, costs TfL £3.3m a year to operate but generated only £690,000 in fares between April 2025 and March 2026. From September 5, the route was diverted through Holloway's Nag's Head instead of Crouch Hill, with services extended to run past midnight. TfL says the changes will bring in around 470 extra weekday trips and put the route on a sustainable financial footing.

The 310 launched in September 2024, the culmination of a 15-year campaign to give the two major Jewish communities a direct link to each other.

A survey found that nearly half of residents — 48 per cent — said they would use the route less following the rerouting.

Safety concerns had dogged the previous last service at 7pm, with reports of antisemitic attacks on passengers who were forced to change buses at Finsbury Park after dark.
