Jacqui Heinrich, president of the White House Correspondents' Association, said cutting off Andrew Feinberg's access 'simply because the president didn't care for their questioning' was retaliation. Feinberg had pressed Donald Trump over his golf courses. On Wednesday Trump called CNN's Kaitlan Collins 'a dummy' and ABC's Karen Travers 'a stupid person' over Russia sanctions. The White House posted both clashes on X.

Feinberg was dropped from covering the president in Iowa after Tuesday's tense exchange.

Both reporters had asked whether waiving Russia sanctions secured prisoner Stephen Hubbard's release.

Trump is reportedly considering turning the press briefing room into a swimming pool.
