'The BBC broke me': Oscar-winning Jewish producer wins £400,000 payout after claiming anti-Semitism forced her out
Lucie Kon, who worked on Panorama and BBC Breakfast, has reportedly received a £400,000 BBC settlement after claiming colleagues branded Zionists like her "evil" following the October 7 Hamas attacks.
Lucie Kon, 57, was made redundant in April, just 19 days after collecting her Oscar for 'Mr Nobody Against Putin'. When she called Hamas evil after October 7, she says a colleague shot back: 'So are Zionists.' She claims she was told she was 'too partial' to oversee a Nova massacre film because she is Jewish. The BBC settled without admitting liability, with the money partly funded by licence fee payers.
An internal BBC grievance process upheld only parts of her complaint and rejected most.
Her name was demoted to the scrolling credits of the Oscar-winning film.
'It was like having Jew stamped on my forehead,' Kon said.
