BBC Three is to be shut down AGAIN as the BBC also scraps BBC Scotland and 100 news jobs

Monday night's most-watched BBC Three show was a repeat of an old Top Gear episode, seen by around 77,000 people. Closing BBC Three, BBC Scotland and Radio 4 Extra in spring 2027 will reportedly save less than £10m a year. Only about £200m of the £500m savings target has reportedly been found so far. Director-general Matt Brittin warned staff of 'tough choices'.

BBC Three went online-only in 2016, returned to TV in 2022 and is now going again.

The Scottish Government branded moving BBC Scotland online 'wholly unacceptable'.

Reporting Scotland: News at Seven will end entirely when the channel closes.
