The boyfriend of an SNL writer's missing sister is one of two people arrested in Los Angeles over her murder

Christina Downer's boyfriend, Delorean Bijon Brandon, 41, and Kaylee Nicole Markowski, 34, were arrested Thursday at separate locations across Los Angeles — Highland Park and Tarzana — on suspicion of murder. Detectives believe the pair killed Downer, concealed evidence of the crime, and got rid of her body. Her brother, SNL writer Jimmy Fowlie, had confirmed in April that she was no longer alive.

Downer was first flagged as missing when a welfare check on 18 December 2025 raised concerns; Brandon told police she had simply moved out, leaving her car and dog behind.

Her cell phone washing ashore at Santa Monica beach prompted investigators to search an Airbnb property in Joshua Tree, deep in the high desert, using K-9 units.

Fowlie said in April that Downer's phone and social media had been compromised before she vanished, and were used to ask for money and fake a story that she had gone 'off the grid'.
