Men cheered 'when is it my turn?' as friends fought to rescue woman from Chicago frat house assault

A 21-year-old woman was allegedly raped in a bathroom at the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity house near the University of Chicago at around 2am on Sunday, while a group of men outside chanted lewd remarks and blocked her friends from entering. Her friend Mia Lara, 21, picked the lock and forced her way in, finding the woman slumped against the wall, partially undressed and 'not fully conscious', with the suspect holding her wrists. Chicago Police have confirmed an investigation is under way and that a suspect has been identified as a person of interest, though no arrests have been made.

Men outside the locked bathroom were heard chanting 'when is it my turn?' and 'I want to get in there' as friends desperately tried to break in.

The suspect told the woman's friends everything was 'cool' when confronted — and had earlier approached her on the dancefloor after she began feeling unwell.

The case has emerged weeks after a civil lawsuit alleged a woman was gang-raped by seven Cornell University fraternity members, sparking a national reckoning over campus safety.
