The Gentlemen star will not return for series three and reveals Guy Ritchie told him to rein in the humour

Daniel Ings, 40, who played Freddy Horniman, brother of Theo James's aristocrat Eddie, has confirmed he is 'not in the next one' of the Netflix hit. He said Guy Ritchie sat him down on his first day of series two and told him 'we went too far with the humour'. Ings insisted he 'absolutely loved' the role. The cast reunited to start filming series three on Monday.

Ings called his exit 'a fun sense of closure' for the character.

He pictures Freddy 'mumbling into the ether somewhere in the British countryside'.

Freddy killed an associate to prove loyalty after ordering a hit on his family.
