The M62 motorway has been closed in both directions following a police incident, leaving drivers facing delays of up to 50 minutes. Motorists are urged to allow extra time or find alternative routes.

A separate incident on the M25 also caused major disruption earlier today after a large car fire forced a closure with 10 miles of queuing traffic.
