All 320 of the terrorism-act arrests on Saturday were for the same act: holding up a sign reading "I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action" outside the Nine Elms embassy. Defend Our Juries, which organised the protest, said Saturday's total pushed the cumulative number detained for defying the ban past 4,000 since Palestine Action was proscribed in July 2025.

Charles Allison, 75, a retired lawyer who made the nearly 300-mile journey from Cumbria, was among those arrested and warned that civil liberties are 'being devalued and watered down'.

The Supreme Court appeal against Palestine Action's terror designation is scheduled for November 4, with the Home Office vowing to 'robustly defend' the proscription.

Defend Our Juries asked how PM Andy Burnham could 'possibly justify arrests today for holding up words' recently deemed below the criminal threshold when spoken by his national security adviser's wife.
