'They are not our men': El Salvador's Bukele says burned bodies found in Haiti are not his missing air technicians

President Nayib Bukele said the remains included a child, a man far taller than his technicians and a person wearing a different uniform. He also noted that the location where the remains were found contained identification documents and uniforms belonging to other countries' militaries. Scott Reece's aid group, Hero Client Rescue, recovered the badly burned bodies on Saturday. The four men disappeared on 18 October after jumping from a burning armoured vehicle.
On Wednesday, Bukele stated that the four men were being held captive by gangs.
The ambush was the UN-backed Gang Suppression Force's first major attack since its deployment.
The force currently has around 2,000 troops on the ground, well below its 5,500 ceiling.
