Thousands flock to east London for Lime bike jousting rematch despite the firm's warning its bikes are 'not for jousting'

Artist Jack Carden and actor Cameron Carnegie-Brown (known as Camtholomew the First) drew a crowd of thousands to London Fields on Halloween for their second Lime bike jousting rematch, after 5,000 people RSVPed within a day of the invite dropping online.

Andy Deane, captain of the Royal Armouries jousting team in Leeds, called the e-bike bouts 'absolutely a legitimate form of jousting', citing historical precedents including water-borne jousting on rowing boats.

The event was born when Carden and Carnegie-Brown accidentally turned a performance art piece into a community spectacle earlier this month, sparking viral social media footage.
