Kenya's first patient, a 40-year-old man who had lived in the DRC, was sick for a month before travelling by road to Kampala and flying on to Nairobi. He died on 5 October. A 39-year-old close relative fell ill on Tuesday while already in quarantine. Experts warn about a third of cases in the outbreak go undetected until after death.

For roughly half of confirmed cases, investigators have been unable to identify a source of infection.

The contact-tracing rate has not yet hit the 80 per cent target.

MSF's Trish Newport warns 'people are moving around without knowing they might have Ebola'.
