Three men were fatally shot after a dispute descended into gunfire at a west-side Detroit strip club operating after hours on Sunday morning. Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison said officers were on the scene within four minutes of a ShotSpotter alert, only to find all three victims already dead. Among the dead was Ansley Harris Jr., 45. Another four people — two male, two female — reached hospital in private vehicles, all with non-life-threatening injuries.
Bettison confirmed the club was no stranger to police attention, noting that officers had been called to the address seven times already this year.
'A fight occurred, an altercation occurred, and as a result individuals decided to settle it with gun violence,' Bettison told reporters.
Mayor Mary Sheffield called on witnesses to come forward, saying the community 'should not suffer from this type of violence.'
