Tom Cruise and pregnant Anne Hathaway to star together in 'Days of Thunder' sequel due in summer 2028
Anne Hathaway and Tom Cruise will reunite on screen with Jonathan Levine directing and Jerry Bruckheimer producing the NASCAR sequel, due in cinemas June 2028.Cruise broke the casting news on social media with a photo of the pair posing in front of a NASCAR locomotive emblazoned with the 'Days of Thunder' logo.
On Saturday, Cruise, 64, broke the casting news from Daytona International Speedway, posting a video of himself and Hathaway posing beside a green and yellow NASCAR race car emblazoned with the film's logo. Hathaway, 43 and currently pregnant with her third child, told the camera: 'I'm gonna have this baby, and then we're going to make this movie.' Paramount has slated the film for June 2, 2028, with production set for IMAX and planned releases in Dolby Cinema and 4DX formats. Jonathan Levine directs from a Will Staples screenplay, with Cruise, Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper serving as producers.
Cruise returns as hot-headed NASCAR driver Cole Trickle; Hathaway's character is a team owner and engineer.
Hathaway currently has four films in cinemas, including 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' and Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey'.
