Tom Cruise heaped praise on the Prince and Princess of Wales on 'The Graham Norton Show' after the royal couple joined him on the red carpet at the London premiere of his new film 'Digger'. Cruise, 64, told Norton: "They are amazing — very charismatic. I had such a good time." Kate dazzled in a purple Jenny Packham gown accessorised with the Queen Mother's amethyst sautoir necklace, originally gifted by Queen Alexandra in 1923.

Cruise greeted William — wearing a tuxedo with a bold double-breasted velvet jacket — with the words: 'Great jacket.'

Sir David Beckham and his sons Romeo and Cruz joined Cruise on the black carpet alongside actor Riz Ahmed.

Cruise revealed his prosthetic transformation for 'Digger' took six hours until he drilled it down to one: 'It was like a ballet — just like Formula 1.'
