The Pentagon is actively preparing military options for President Trump to resume strikes against Iran, with several Gulf Arab states warned to brace for a short, intense campaign that could come as early as next week, as oil markets reacted sharply to the news with Brent crude climbing above $116 a barrel. A top US military commander made a rare in-person visit to the White House alongside Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs Chairman General Dan Caine to present attack options, with potential targets including Iranian infrastructure and nuclear sites. Trump has not yet made a final decision, but officials say planning momentum is building with midterm elections looming as a possible timing factor.

Trump teased the prospect himself, telling a rally: 'We may do another little Epic Fury — or they'll agree.'

Sen. Chris Murphy, who said he had been briefed on classified planning, called the plans 'insane' and warned they risked 'devastating escalation.'

MOAB 'Mother of All Bombs' munitions could reportedly be used — though no official confirmation has been given.
