Russell Brand, who denies three counts of rape among seven charges, allegedly told one accuser she would "have to learn to enjoy it" — a phrase she said left her wondering: "Is this what abusers do?Russell Brand where she told police she had "frozen" to find him nearly naked.
A woman giving evidence at Russell Brand's rape trial told Southwark Crown Court she was left stunned when Brand stripped to the waist and demanded she photograph him in her Bournemouth hotel room before the alleged attack at the 1999 Labour Party conference. She said Brand had seemed "camp and friendly" before transforming into someone "monster-like" as he posed topless, blowing a kiss at the camera, and then pushed her onto the bed. The jury was shown the photographs — taken by the alleged victim herself — as she broke down describing how she "couldn't fight back" and lay "like a zombie on the bed." Brand, 51, denies three counts of rape, three of sexual assault and one of indecent assault against six women.
Brand allegedly told her "it's just fun" and asked if she was "enjoying it" as she pleaded with him to stop and told him he was hurting her.
The woman said she had invited Brand to her room for tea, believing he was gay and posed no threat after they met at a fringe cabaret show.
After the alleged rape, she told police she was left feeling "dirty" and haunted by fears she might be pregnant.
