Tory MP questions whether Burnham's national security adviser can stay after his wife's Palestine Action post

'We cannot have the NSA's wife tweeting about what decisions her husband has or hasn't made,' warned shadow minister Alicia Kearns. She has written to Prime Minister Andy Burnham asking whether he still has full confidence in Jonathan Powell. Powell's wife, Sarah Helm, posted: 'God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action.' The Met dropped its probe on Saturday, ruling her post fell below the criminal threshold.

Supporting Palestine Action, proscribed as a terror group last year, carries up to 14 years in jail.

Helm, accused of 'leaking', is now calling for the ban to be lifted.
