Kemi Badenoch's Conservatives have climbed to 24 per cent in the latest YouGov poll — their highest level of support since the 2024 general election — sitting just two points behind Labour on 26 per cent. Reform UK is on 21 per cent for a third week running in third place, down from its near-18-month run as Britain's most popular party.

Andy Burnham's first Budget delivered no visible bounce for Labour, whose lead in an aggregate of polls actually continues to grow at 29 per cent.

Reform's slide will sting Nigel Farage, whose party has been dragged down by a donations fallout, racism allegations and the rising challenge of Rupert Lowe's Restore Britain party.

Were these figures replicated at a general election, a hung Parliament would be the near-certain outcome, with the Lib Dems likely needed to keep Labour in power.
