Tottenham beat ten-man Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 2018 after Cole Palmer was sent off

Stand-in goalkeeper Mike Penders, 21, turned a Mateus Fernandes corner into his own net on his full Premier League debut in the 78th minute — starting only because Emi Martinez is sidelined with a broken jaw. Palmer earned a second yellow card three minutes later for catching Conor Gallagher's ankle with his studs. Mathys Tel then completed a brilliant solo run to wrap it up for Spurs.

Gary Neville said on Sky Sports: 'Cole Palmer has lost his head.'

Palmer will now miss Chelsea's Carabao Cup trip to Liverpool.

Striker Joao Pedro missed the game with fluid on his knee after an injury in training.
