Touring North Korea's fortified border, Kim Jong Un's sister threatens South Korea with an 'overwhelming' military response

Kim Yo Jong visited frontline positions on Tuesday alongside Marshal Pak Jong Chon, one of the senior military figures in her brother's inner circle. She praised the fortification work as a 'sacred and great undertaking' and declared that new firepower units 'have taken their firing positions'. Troops received her order to take 'prompt and resolute action' against any threat, and she called on them to render the border with the 'enemy' 'eternally impregnable'.
Last month, mine explosions wounded three South Korean soldiers in incidents Seoul attributed to Pyongyang.
She has threatened to restart loudspeaker propaganda broadcasts aimed at the South.
According to Seoul, North Korea deployed as many as 7,000 workers to the border this year.
