Tourists told to 'run' as magnitude 5.1 earthquake strikes off the coast of Bali
A 5.1-magnitude earthquake has struck near Bali, with tremors reaching as far as Ubud and Canggu and sending locals and tourists fleeing. The US Geological Survey logged the quake at a depth of 10km, and seismologist Adam Pascale urged people to drop, cover and hold on, as well as to seek higher ground because of the tsunami risk.
The Bali quake comes after a 5.7-magnitude tremor off West Java on October 11 and another near Gorontalo just the day before.
Separately, a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck southern Panama, days after destructive tremors had already hit the region.
