Trans activists rush the red carpet at Harry Potter premiere wearing 'Rowling money kills' T-shirts

Masked protesters rushed the red carpet at Thursday's gala premiere of 'Harry Potter And The Cursed Child' at the Palace Theatre in London, lying down in front of arriving celebrities before security removed them. One wore a T-shirt reading "Rowling money kills", targeting JK Rowling over her views on gender identity. The demonstration is part of a growing wave of protests by trans rights activists targeting Harry Potter events and venues.
Rowling, 61, has repeatedly stated she believes biological sex is "real" and "immutable", calling self-declared gender identity "quasi-religious" and "anti-science".
The protesters concealed their identities with masks and hats before laying on the carpet as stars including Vanessa Feltz and Richard Arnold arrived.
The new production has been reimagined as a single three-hour show, cutting the original five-hour two-part format that ran from 2016.
