Paris shooting suspect admitted targeting Muslims and Africans and has 'no regrets', French prosecutors say

Kevin T., a 39-year-old French national, told investigators he chose the Trappes suburb because it was a "den of Islamists" and admitted his attacks last Friday were premeditated, France's antiterrorism prosecutor Olivier Christen revealed Thursday. The gunman fired from his vehicle across a 12-kilometre route through Trappes and La Verrière, killing Pengo Bossio Wangi, 26, and wounding seven others, including an 11-year-old girl. Prosecutors are seeking pretrial detention and are investigating on charges of murder and attempted murder linked to a terrorist enterprise.
Kevin T. denied terrorist intent, insisting his conduct was "legitimate" — but admitted he felt NO REGRETS.
One victim remains in a life-threatening condition; Kevin T. has a history of psychological problems and drug addiction, toxicology confirmed.
The attack has become a political flashpoint with France's presidential election approaching in the spring.
