Kyle Quin Schrock, 36, of San Diego, who quit his job to travel the world, has spoken from his hospital bed about how he survived falling 200 feet from a cliff in Madeira on October 11. 'I thought it was my death,' he told his 1.3 million Instagram followers, wearing an oxygen mask. He has broken his back, ribs and sternum and remains in intensive care, where he is awaiting spinal surgery and needs his lungs drained.
While he clung to the cliff face, someone above called down to tell him rescue by helicopter was coming.
Sister-in-law Tara Schrock's GoFundMe had raised more than $11,700 of its $30,000 goal.
He has vowed to 'get back out there and enjoy life again.'
