Clem Cattini, 89, the Hertfordshire-based session drummer who co-founded the Tornados in 1961, died after suffering a fall earlier this week, with tributes flooding in from across the music world.

Tony Christie called Cattini 'a world class musician but also a world class gentleman' after recording 'Amarillo' with him.

Carl Palmer said: 'The drummers all over the UK owe you a lot for opening the door for all of us.'

Cattini nearly became Led Zeppelin's original drummer but missed a crucial lunch with manager Peter Grant because he was too busy.
