A man arrested after turning up at Donald Trump's Doonbeg golf resort in Co. Clare last Friday — carrying a scrapbook he intended to give the US president — was charged with trespass and a weapons offence and spent four nights in Ireland's most overcrowded prison before the case ended without a conviction.
The man, who described himself as an 'admirer' of Trump, had gone to the resort with the aim of presenting the scrapbook to the president as a gift.
He was ultimately cleared, with RTÉ reporting that he avoided a conviction over the Doonbeg trespass.
