Trump allies call for 'martial law' and seizure of voting machines if Republicans lose next month's midterms

A loose coalition of MAGA election activists — several with direct access to the White House — is openly urging Trump to declare martial law and seize ballots if they regard November's midterm results as fraudulent. Peter Ticktin, a childhood friend of Trump and lawyer for convicted former Colorado election clerk Tina Peters, said on a Rumble livestream that 'would have to be martial law' in that eventuality. Peters has visited Trump at the White House on at least two occasions since June. Legal experts say the president lacks any authority to confiscate state ballots or override election laws.
Ticktin told one podcaster that Trump 'is not going to relinquish control again' if he believes results are stolen.
Fellow activist Gregory Stenstrom went further, calling for the election to be paused outright over claimed security concerns.
The Supreme Court has already blocked one Trump move — an attempt to have the US Postal Service screen mail ballots.
