Trump announces immediate energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine

Volodymyr Zelensky has declared that Vladimir Putin is "laughing" after Trump's diesel deal handed Russia a "simple victory," telling the US president directly: "This is not the right side of history." The Kremlin has now confirmed Russia has restarted diesel exports following Trump's decision to suspend sanctions, with sources saying Russian fuel should reach American markets within two weeks — before the November midterm elections.

Zelensky admitted feeling "betrayed" by Trump, saying: "It is a pity that we are losing a strong partner."

The deal could hand Moscow an estimated $4 billion in new revenue, and came after Ukraine repeatedly struck Russian oil refineries despite US requests to stop.

Even Iowa Republican Senate nominee Ashley Hinson broke with Trump, saying any talk of relieving Russian sanctions "makes me nervous."
