Trump brands Obama a 'lousy president' and 'not a smart guy' after his White House 'Cheesecake Factory' jibe

Barack Obama told an Ohio rally on Saturday that Donald Trump had the White House "looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory". At Joint Base Andrews on Monday, Trump called Obama "a lousy president" and "not a smart guy", saying only "a stupid person" would govern the way his predecessor did. He also accused Obama of failing to notice "dirt and filth" and allowing the residence to fall into disrepair. The White House X account followed up by posting a mock menu of Trump's "accomplishments".

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent lunched at a Cheesecake Factory and described Obama's library as "Darth Vader's tomb".

Plans for White House construction projects are projected to cost the administration a minimum of $900 million.

Bill Clinton compared the redesigned Rose Garden to "the entrance to Liberace's bathroom".
