Trump's White House Accord on Super Intelligence — a "morally binding" self-policing pledge signed by 31 tech executives — drew fresh attention at the summit itself as Trump called Google CEO Sundar Pichai a "monster" as a compliment while introducing him to the assembled billionaires, even as questions mounted over how the accord's self-regulation model will work in practice. The document had already ignited ridicule online for carrying a glaring spelling error beneath the president's own signature, rendering his title as "President of the Unites States." Trump also renamed artificial intelligence "Super Intelligence" via executive order at the same event.
The accord, which carries no legal force, was signed by Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai, Dario Amodei, Greg Brockman and Jensen Huang.
Unlike the EU's approach, the pact allows tech companies to police themselves, with analysts already questioning how any self-regulatory commitments will be enforced.
The 31 executives seated around the summit table had a combined personal wealth exceeding $1.8 trillion, a figure that reportedly makes it the richest gathering ever assembled.
