Trump faces a sanctions threat from a US judge over his $10bn BBC lawsuit after skipping a deposition for a Mar-a-Lago fundraiser

Magistrate Judge Enjolique A. Lett warned on Friday that any further failure to comply would 'lead to sanctions'. Trump's lawyers had cancelled his 16 October deposition, citing 'matters of national importance'. Those matters were reportedly a campaign rally in Dalton, Georgia, and a Mar-a-Lago fundraiser. A hearing is due to be held by 22 October.
Trump's team says he has no availability before discovery closes on 18 December.
The BBC accused the President of 'much foot-dragging' over giving sworn evidence.
Trump's lawyers called the broadcaster 'formerly respected and now disgraced'.
