Trump defends waiving Russia sanctions to keep Putin at the table and savages Zelensky over diesel refinery strikes
'Zelenskyy doesn't care,' President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social, claiming Ukraine's strikes on Russian refineries are hurting American farmers, ranchers and businesses. He blocked the sanctions on Friday, two days before they were due to take effect. Republican Senator Thom Tillis called the move 'beyond irresponsible'. Volodymyr Zelensky warned that siding with Vladimir Putin would be a 'historic mistake'.
Russia says diesel from its deal with the US will take 15 to 20 days to deliver.
Marco Rubio called the suspension a 60-day pause to study its economic impact.
