Trump fires off an all-caps rage post after a federal judge throws out the DOJ's Alaska 'Decoy Dan' lawsuit
Sen. Dan Sullivan (left) and fellow Senate candidate Dan Sullivan, whose presence on Alaska's ballot prompted the Trump administration to file a lawsuit it claimed risked voter confusion — a case a federal judge dismissed as "infeasible" after ballots were already cast.
Trump responded to a federal court ruling that tossed the DOJ's lawsuit — which had aimed to delay certification of Alaska's Senate election results — with a single, all-caps word. The case centres on Dan J. Sullivan, a former Petersburg elementary school teacher who entered the race against Republican incumbent Senator Dan S. Sullivan, with prosecutors alleging his candidacy was designed to siphon votes from the senator. The DOJ intends to appeal, and FBI agents have already been canvassing Petersburg, knocking on doors to interview the roughly dozen donors who bankrolled the decoy candidate.
Senator Dan S. Sullivan faces a strong challenge from Democrat Mary Peltola, with the race potentially deciding control of the Senate.
