Kaitlan Collins tears into Trump's defense of Ramaswamy ad after Trump backs controversial Ohio spot featuring Ohio health official's estranged mother
Kaitlan Collins and other journalists have turned on Donald Trump over his defense of Vivek Ramaswamy's attack ad, as the Republican Party's internal split over the spot deepens with under two weeks until the Ohio governor's race. Donna Arthur stood by the man charged with raping her daughter Amy Acton at 12, and now calls Acton 'a liar' in the ad. Mother and daughter have not spoken since 1978. Trump had told Ramaswamy to 'leave it up', calling Acton 'fair game', and the campaign is putting $4 million behind the spot. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine branded it 'deeply, deeply troubling'.
Trump on Truth Social: 'Who wouldn't use such an Ad? I would, it's called "hitting pay dirt."'
JD Vance said he was 'a little bit disgusted' by Republicans 'whining' about the ad.
Trump told an Iowa rally a mother attacking her daughter means 'everybody should be so lucky.'
