Trump refuses to endorse JD Vance for 2028 while his vice president stands right behind him in the Oval Office

Just a day earlier, Vice President JD Vance had told journalist Mark Halperin: 'I think if I run, the president will endorse me.' Asked about it on Tuesday, President Donald Trump called him 'a very talented person' but added: 'I don't think we've ever talked about it.' Vance went visibly red-faced and laughed. Trump insisted it was 'very early' and the midterms must come first.
Vance's Polymarket odds for the 2028 nomination have slid from 53 per cent to 43.8.
Trump has also floated Secretary of State Marco Rubio as a potential running mate.
Vance concedes there is 'of course' a chance he won't run, citing his four young children.
