Trump's Board of Peace unveils $2.45bn Gaza reconstruction blueprint as ceasefire plan stalls badly

The Board of Peace, a U.S.-backed body, has launched a $2.45 billion, six-month initiative to kick off Gaza's reconstruction, presenting a 66-project blueprint at the UN General Assembly in New York as Trump's broader ceasefire framework shows signs of serious strain. The board warned that full reconstruction will ultimately require $35.2 billion over the medium term and a further $71.4 billion across the following decade. High representative Nikolay Mladenov said progress depends on Hamas laying down its weapons. The plan is aimed at prospective international donors, who will be called upon to finance it.
Israel now controls around 60% of Gaza and Hamas has NOT disarmed, leaving the ceasefire's core conditions unmet.
The promised international peacekeeping force and new Palestinian governing body have still not entered Gaza, with most Palestinians living in tent camps or ruins.
'The need is immense,' the board said, with the $2.45bn blueprint designed only to get reconstruction started, not finish it.
