Trump's low Air Force One flyover for Halloween trick-or-treaters sparks panic in Washington as residents fear a crash

Air Force One made two low-altitude passes over the White House on Thursday evening, flying between 400ft and 1,000ft, with residents given just 15 minutes' notice — prompting 911 calls from people who feared a 9/11-style attack or plane crash. The flyover forced a ground stop at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and delayed around 202 flights, equivalent to 26% of the day's departures.
DC Council posted footage on X saying the sudden flyover startled residents, Pentagon staff and its own officials.
One DC resident wrote: 'The altitude and direction made it look like the aircraft was going into the buildings.'
A previous flyover over Arlington Cemetery the day before had been given nearly 24 hours' advance notice.
