US gas prices averaged $4.29 a gallon as Donald Trump boasted at a Georgia rally that America is making a "freaking fortune" from oil revenues despite advisers begging him not to.
President Donald Trump's personal oil and gas holdings are now worth between $22.5 million and $81.6 million, up from $12.6 million to $46 million at the end of 2025, according to Democrats on the Congressional Joint Economic Committee. He bought up to $17.5 million in oil and gas stocks after the war began. Two days earlier, at a rally in Perry, Georgia, he told the crowd: 'I don't give a damn.'
The average US gas price stood at $4.29 on Monday, up from $2.98 before the war.
His own advisers had warned him: 'Please don't mention that, Sir.'
A poll found 73 percent disapprove of his handling of gas prices.
