Katie Zacharia is dubbed 'half a Scaramucci' after her five-day stint as Trump's press secretary ends in a brutal ousting
Laughter erupts in the briefing room as Katie Zacharia cuts short her debut White House press conference after accepting just three pre-selected questions in 14 minutes.
CBS White House reporter Nancy Cordes coined the jibe on Radio 4's Today programme, measuring Zacharia against Anthony Scaramucci's 11-day tenure in 2017. One correspondent said they knew she was finished 'two minutes into her prepared remarks' on Tuesday. Her exit came on Friday, mid-interview, when adviser Jason Miller told her 'JD wanted to chat'. Katie Zacharia, 41, departed praising Trump as 'kind, wonderful, gracious'.
Her debut briefing ran just 14 minutes, during which she fielded only three questions.
In her conversation with Sean Hannity, she acknowledged having never sat the bar exam successfully.
One source reportedly described the Hannity interview, set up by Susie Wiles, as a 'sanctioned hit'.
