Trump says Andy Burnham is 'getting it done' on North Sea drilling where Starmer 'never got it done'
President Donald Trump, speaking before departing the White House for a rally in Florida, said he had talked with Andy Burnham on Friday. He claimed Britain was 'opening up the North Sea oil', though Jackdaw is in fact a gas field. Trump acknowledged the move was 'against the liberal principle' yet insisted Burnham 'knows what's right', and predicted it would make the UK 'a very wealthy country'.
Energy Secretary Miatta Fahnbulleh admitted Jackdaw won't cut bills and creates just 27 jobs.
The bigger Rosebank oil decision is still pending, and Fahnbulleh is reportedly minded to block it.
Labour grandee Harriet Harman broke ranks, urging ministers to approve Rosebank.
