Trump says Google boss Sundar Pichai refused his request to rename the Atlantic Ocean, telling him 'oceans are different'

President Donald Trump told a rally in South Carolina on Wednesday that Pichai pleaded, 'Oceans are different, sir.' He said he made the call after Google Maps changed the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America for US users.

Trump claims Pichai told him: 'No, no, no. This time I'm not doing it.'

Palm Beach International Airport was renamed after Trump earlier this year.

Historian Dr Ian Garner says it is 'about ego in the here and now.'
