Trump says Ilhan Omar must resign after a DOJ filing calls her 'Ilhan Nur Said Elmi', her ex-husband's surname
Ilhan Omar, filming from the back of a car on Tuesday night, appealed to supporters for $5, $10 or $20, warning of "a very expensive and challenging time" after federal agents raided her Washington home.
At his Sioux City rally in Iowa, President Donald Trump claimed Ilhan Omar used a 'fake name' to be sworn in and told Speaker Mike Johnson that Democrats had 'conceded her seat'. Asked on MS NOW whether she was related to ex-husband Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, Omar replied: 'Not to my knowledge.' Trump said: 'That tells you a lot.' The filing itself does not establish any wrongdoing.
Agents raided Omar's Washington DC home on October 12, seizing 17 items including phones.
Omar claims the raid was meant to 'intimidate and scare people' away from voting.
Attorney General Todd Blanche: 'I don't think [prosecutors] would make up names.'
