Trump says there is a 'possibility' he will strike Iran again as US pulls embassy staff over 'lethal' plots
Intelligence chief Jay Clayton advised Secretary of State Marco Rubio in an October 23 memo that Iranian assassination plots targeting Americans had 'reached advanced stages'. The threat extends across the Middle East and 'certain other countries'. Staff numbers have been reduced in Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar and the UAE, and non-emergency personnel were ordered to leave Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. Centcom reportedly has strike plans prepared for after the midterms.
Trump, voting early in Florida, also floated 'a nice big beautiful agreement' with Tehran.
Envoy Tom Barrack said a strike could 'absolutely' come this weekend; Trump: 'I don't know anything about it.'
The one-page memo named no specific targets and gave no timeline for attacks.
