Trump slams Obama's 'Cheesecake Factory' jab and says his predecessor 'wouldn't understand' the White House renovations

Obama's Saturday quip — that Trump "has got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory" — sent the administration into a full day of counter-offensive, with Trump raising the jibe multiple times at a Mississippi rally on Monday. He insisted the building "was in horrible shape" when he took over and said he had fixed it with "the finest artisans in the world." Trump added that Obama "wouldn't understand" the need for a pristine White House because "he doesn't notice dirt and filth."
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was dispatched to eat lunch at an actual Cheesecake Factory to show solidarity, telling reporters 'the Martha's Vineyard set should give it a try.'
Trump's White House also shared an AI-generated image of a Cheesecake Factory menu with his 'Accomplishments' replacing the food items.
Obama made the crack at a Michigan rally for Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, citing the new ballroom, gold decor, South Lawn helipad and paved-over Rose Garden.
