Trump threatens to fire advisers Chris LaCivita and James Blair over work for pro-Russia Bosnia party

President Trump has threatened to "terminate" two of his closest campaign advisers after it emerged they had worked for a pro-Russia political party in Bosnia. Trump said he was considering firing both men after the revelation blindsided the White House. The row puts two of the most powerful operatives in Republican politics suddenly in the firing line.

LaCivita and Blair worked for a Bosnian party aligned with the Kremlin, a direct clash with Trump's declared foreign-policy stance.

Trump said he was 'considering terminating' the pair, using the word he famously deployed on 'The Apprentice'.

The scandal raises fresh questions about the vetting of senior advisers inside the Trump operation.
