Trump took NO action after he was briefed that a suspected Chinese spy had a 'close relationship' with Nvidia's boss

President Trump was briefed on the intelligence about her roughly a year ago but chose not to act, reportedly unwilling to disrupt Nvidia's sales or antagonise Beijing.
Alice Huang — the Chinese citizen also known as Huang Le, who serves as managing director of Singapore-based AI firm Megaspeed — cultivated a documented personal relationship with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, 63, while US intelligence agencies assessed she was funnelling commercial intelligence to Beijing as a Chinese spy. Trump received the briefing roughly a year ago but took no action, reportedly because he was unwilling to put Nvidia's chip sales at risk or inflame trade tensions with China.
White House officials were especially alarmed given that Jensen Huang works closely with Trump on AI policy, raising fears that Beijing was using that connection to gain insight into US chip export strategy.
Megaspeed is suspected of routing $2 billion worth of banned Nvidia AI chips to Chinese companies including Alibaba, and a Commerce Department inspection of its Malaysia data centre found the hardware still in unopened boxes.
Nvidia has disputed the claims, stating that diversion allegations against Megaspeed were 'thoroughly investigated and debunked last year' and that Jensen Huang's meetings with customers are standard practice.
