TV police sergeant Paul Street jailed for four years after demanding suspect's sex video to show 'the lads from footy'

Paul Street, 41, a sergeant who appeared on BBC and Channel 4 crime shows, was jailed for four years at the Old Bailey on Wednesday after being found guilty of misconduct in a public office. Street asked colleague Josh Williams for a sex video found on a female suspect's phone, then asked if Williams still had it so he could share it with friends. Street also ran WhatsApp groups in which he encouraged colleagues to 'smash the head in' of a 17-year-old detainee and to 'bully' him.

Williams, 38, who sent Street an underwear photo taken from the suspect's phone, was sentenced to 16 months in prison.

Anti-corruption officers uncovered Street's two WhatsApp groups in 2021, four years after he had set them up while working for Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
