Two 15-year-old girls are arrested in California after the FBI uncovers their alleged plot to attack a high school

The FBI alerted Corona Police on October 6 after flagging social media messages about a threat to Corona High School in Riverside County. According to detectives, the two girls devoted several months to researching school shootings and had conversations about carrying out an attack on an unspecified future date. One girl attends Corona High and the other goes to nearby Norco High School. Both are being held on charges of conspiracy to commit murder.

Their messages show they discussed ways to obtain weapons but never managed it.

Police found no weapons after searching devices and several Riverside County homes.

The Riverside County District Attorney's Office is now reviewing the case.
