Two people have been arrested after Essex Police broke down the door of a property on Sawyers Grove, Brentwood, at 7:20am on Friday following reports of damage during a neighbour dispute, with explosive ordnance disposal experts now examining several small suspicious items found at the address. About 40 households within a 100-metre cordon have been evacuated and directed to King George's Playing Fields Pavilion.

The cordon takes in much of Sawyers Grove along with sections of Sawyers Hall Lane and Highland Avenue.

Michael Page, 84, a local resident, was ordered to leave at around 11:30am and told he would not be able to return for several hours.
